This is how it turned out

Rosie, artworker December 8, 2025

Installation at Kangaroo Valley sculpture prize exhibition 2025. Thanks to all involved it was a privilege being part of it

Granted it was a cow-shed, but it was really nice. Most of the works had sold so it was just me left to pick up but hadn’t expected anything in that regard so fine

If you feel you need a re-cap on the making of this piece >>> here and here and every other post from 2025, bc it took the whole time. I like an artwork I can live in for a spell

Back in the studio and it looked like this. I hate the pink carpeting, I got it when next door renovated because I knew I would make a mess of the floor given time but it was a mistake. Have to say I hadn’t turned the lights on when I snapped this and even allowing for that, its giving dingy. Equally hate the idea of pulling it up. I’m scared of the damage there is bound to be underneath it, which will no doubt cancel out having laid it down it in the first place. I dont know anything, especially old carpets on art studio floors on top of nice wood parquetry

Carpet

In position covered with a sheet and lent face against a wall

Gorgeous place

Making sculpture is hard and takes a long time, so the prize is held every two years. Fingers crossed for 2027 I guess

A full one year of my life

I respectfully acknowledge the Guringay people, the traditional custodians of the land that is now called Ku-ring-gai, and pay my respects to elders past, present, and those to come. I extend my respect to elders and members of the Darug nation, and to all Indigenous people who may be reading these words

Fellow travellers, thank you for visiting
