Things are ok, things have been good

Flash storm.

Six trees felled in our street, we couldn’t even walk out because live powerlines all over the ground. No power for four days! It was fantastic. No need to buy food, cook food, think about what to cook and what food to buy every day. I declare I hate, quite passionately, this part about Being a Woman. The food buying & cooking. I dont want to know about it. So for four days it was: out of my face. Leave me alone. And they had to, because nothing could be done! Things haven’t been this good for a while. Nice position to be in dont you think, complaining about too much shopping & food. Thank you Jesus for that and the rain, by the way, we really needed it, as you know & I am, truly grateful. But thank you for the power blackout especially, it was way cool.

So quiet

The peace I tell you, the peace

Rosie_Perl_feb2020.24.jpg

Sanded everything. Again, sanded everything again.

Gilded ornaments not good enough. Sand them all back to base & gild again. This too, did not require electricity. Smugness, say my name

No candles?

Bowls of Canola Oil with kitchen string wicks. They worked really, really well. Autism thinks.

Identity first.jpg

FYI. One doesn’t ‘have’ autism. One is autistic. He is autistic. Its who he is. He is a smart person. Not a person with smart. I dont even know how people confuse this up. There are lots of funny memes in autism world to help you out though, be in no doubt of razor sharp wits. Lots of people with wit and razor.

This image popped up the other day, in relation to another, new project. Sculpture maquettes from a commission proposal for Perth Intercontinental Hotel/Casino in 2012. I became quite sidelined by making maquettes and diorama for a while, as you can see here and here

Learning to fly

My other smart person, newly 17 years old. Seventeen and fearless & Lord of the sky Lord help me.

Landed! Came back safe! It turned out the Valium was a wise precaution anyway. I was chill & later on had a nap.

I had just started watching The Witcher on Netflix when the power went down, so when we cleared a walking path through the trees to call an Uber, I downloaded the first two books on my phone, soon as getting to a free-wifi cafe mmmmmm nnnnnn mm m mmmmmmmm Geralt mmnnnnm

Yes I was very ok during the power blackout. Quite wonderful. Teenagers moaned all the time. Poor lambs. I shrug and say what can I do? Because we all know I can do…nothing! Jesus, way cool

Rosie_Perl_feb2020.27.jpg

and work is looking good

When the men finally came to clear all the trees & restore the power, everyone was like YAY! and I was like ok. Thats good. That really was good.

thank you
