Artworking; October 2019

Rosie, artworker November 4, 2019

October was a little bit shit, to be honest. So I did heaps of work.

But a favorite sewing blog has risen from the dead! The Cutting Class. Last sighted 2013

If people only knew how hard it was for me, with all the numbers

See? Hoping the digital will lend it authority.

Please note that all the landscapes above are studies. Its like a sketch, so its ‘unfinished’ by nature. I used deep profile boards with these and its too high relief for this application or I would probably have pushed them further. I’m using gesso masonite boards for The Real. Up towards the beginning of these posts, you can see a pic with two red panels, these are the gesso boards for gilding & will be the finished work

I love this font! Trajan. It was developed for Photoshop which means its a pricey one to buy, so I drew it myself from screen snips

Happy customer!

Everyone gets

a little thank you card.

Sewing merch = gilded fabric swatches.

SO APPROPRIATE

I’m a bit traumatised from the commerce inherent in the commerce of selling & haven’t added this t-shirt to my Art shop yet but email me if you’re keen to have one right away. I printed a few for next week’s Melbourne Frocktails but its a primo bit of sewing merch for Xmas. “Just the thing for the sewist in your life, as long as they’re cool enough” is my marketing push. Like it?

Then I get on with working these two to death

Then I go see the real thing. So ok, October wasnt all shit

I respectfully acknowledge the Guringay people, the traditional custodians of the land that is now called Ku-ring-gai, and pay my respects to elders past, present, and those to come. I extend my respect to elders and members of the Darug nation, and to all Indigenous people who may be reading these words

Fellow travellers, thank you for visiting
