Spoolettes Tiger T!

Rosie, artworker November 5, 2019

Welcome to the wonderful world of Taking Animal Print Too Far! And you thought I’d reached peak Leopard Print! No no, merely moved species, make way for La Tigre…..

Its here! The tshirt for sewing Tigers!

Jen, moi, Natalie Brisbane Frocktails 2017

Whats the story?

I made this long sleeve Grainline Lark top for Brisbane Frocktails in 2017 (with my gilded lace skirt) & went on to have some printed as gifts, but now the word is out so in the spirit of imminent Melbourne Frocktails AND Xmas around the corner, here we are: the Spoolettes Tiger T!

White/marle grey crew neck tshirt, $40/$43* (on sale over Melbourne Frocktails weekend!) each including all postages, available in my Souvenirs shop. The going rate of a band tshirt except its sewing, which is cooler.

There are countless ways to wear this

This t-shirt is available in the shop as a pre-order (I’m just me & I cant keep every size every colour in stock) which closes on 20th November, for delivery the week after. Exciting! Big Tiger!

Nice in

marle grey

This is me having just finished making my Brisbane Frocktails long sleeve Lark T. Naturally the night itself was so good that no outfit photos were taken but…

…if you are looking for a sewing-related Xmas present? Here! Take this!

Because sewing friends are the best friends

This is glamorous me in the studio (in my Papercut Patterns Anima pants). I love my T and I wear it all the time. As my friend Nat says, she “wears the fuck” out of her’s, just like me. Check out #spoolettesTigerT on Insta!

*A note about the quality & price: this tshirt is made from 100% cotton, sourced from ethical suppliers who possess either an FLA (Fair Labour Association) certificate or WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) documentation. The difference in price from white to grey marle sounds like profiteering on behalf of the supplier but the base fabric of grey uses two or more colors of yarn combined to produce & is therefore higher in price.
The printing is done here in Australia, using high quality, environmentally friendly water based pigmented textile inks, certified by Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 or Kornit water based inks; both completely non-hazardous, non-toxic and 100% biodegradable. They contain no animal by-products and are completely vegan. You could probably eat them. This process translates to a higher dollar price but in part mitigates the Earth-cost. Lastly, a significant contribution to the price is made by Australia Post, who also have a go at the economic viability of small trades like this. This the way things are, thank you for your support!

**Please note:

some of these images have been photo-shopped.

I know! You couldn’t really tell, so I’m saying that these are indications only and your T will look like the one in the shop marked as “Actual t-shirt” and are shown in size XL; the scale of the print alters in proportion to the size of garment, bigger on small etc
