Rare studio-lyfe pic. Setting the display up before a market day, I want it looking good…
I’m going to do a range of small works for the market along with my Shelfings, I have a nifty display device worked out & have begun production on a few ideas for decorative pieces. I’m expanding my brief. I’m on the waitlist to have a stall at The Big Design Market in October so I need inventory. Its a three day affair so I need inventory!
Aaah I love it all. But there comes a time at every market, shortly after I finish setting up, which can take over an hour, where I just want to cry & go home. Its not all easy. The cry & go home need is real. And some days are better than others. But good. Y’know.
Cuffs! The newest thing, I’m bananas for my cuffs, I love them so much. Its taken time to develop as I refine a high level of finish, absolutely none of this will be done on a is-that-good-enough basis. It’s Good or Go Home or rather, Good-or-Dont Go To Market. And its such a rush, going to market, I am now finding it enjoyable when people buy! Major, adrenalin. But fun too! People have said the nicest things to me and have come back to buy more after seeing me at another market. Repeat customers, imagine that.
A funny thing happened when I bought a second hand Gucci handbag, which has bamboo tassels. Love. For bamboo tassels. Am bananas for bamboo now. Bananas. Doing everything with it. Not stopping soon.

Over the Easter weekend I did some sewing and that was just lovely, I love sewing & dont have much time to give it now. Now I have an almost-full time business! But over the long weekend I made three tops (two Mandy Boat tees, the new pattern from The Assembly line, the funnel neck top) and refashioned an Asos skirt I found at Vinnies. Good work Rosie!
